A public art installation that pays tributes to NHS and key workers has opened up at Chamberlain Square Paradise in Birmingham.

Gratitude Birmingham honours and praises the continued dedication and bravery of NHS Staff and all key workers during the pandemic.

The artwork created by Wild in Art “captures the extraordinary experiences that have connected us through these most challenging of times,” say the organisers.

In autumn this year, sculptures will be auctioned with “substantial proceeds” donated to NHS Charities Together, which support 240 NHS charity members across the country, its hospitals, ambulances, community and mental health providers.

In Birmingham, they launched a campaign that assisted children and young people with mental illnesses during the pandemic.

The free exhibition showcases 51 sculptures created and designed by artists from around the UK. British Fashion Designer, Dame Zandra Rhodes, is the project’s creative ambassador.

Local artist Amrit Singh, “excited” to share his sculpture entitled “Community Strength”, wrote on Twitter that his work is “dedicated to all voluntary key workers from diverse backgrounds.”

The public artwork will stay in Birmingham until 30th August and is planned to go on tour to Manchester, Edinburgh and London.

Tickets for the exhibition can be bought here.
